Turn ideas into sustainable solutions for the regional development. This is the goal of the program USGAT (Unleashing sustainable growth through applied technologies) initiative, which is developing a master’s degree in international that connects Europe and Latin america across 13 institutions. The university, through the Institute of Studies and Development of Galicia (IDEGA), unfolded this week a cycle of trainings to train future teachers in key themes such as territory, innovation, data analysis and applied economics.
The project, which has already penetrated the equator and that is coordinated from the USC, brought together 50 participants that have strengthened capacities to formulate strategies and evaluate impacts with regional focus, linking the academic knowledge with the sector socioprodutivo. The resort academic will be completed with a program of activities in Naples the next week for the tuning of the master to be conducted in 12 Latin american universities from 2027. There, the participants formaranse in research methods and data analysis, the measurement of productivity and efficiency, spatial analysis, analysis contrafactual of public policies, industrial policy and competitiveness of clusters.

The graduate school will allow the student to acquire skills conceptual and techniques to analyze practical cases that have a real impact in the territories and face the challenges the global of our time. Open aportunidades in the labor market to consolidate a profile ready to join in public or private organizations, to design and implement initiatives with impact economic, social and technological and accompany processes of transformation of the regions that seek a sustainable development, with a focus practical and based on the evidence.
The next June, the faculty of the USC desprazarase to Latin america for the uptake of talent and the training of future teachers in the skills european cover the sustainability, models green, entrepreneurship social and quantitative models of impact.
Funded by Erasmus + and a budget close of 800.000 euros, USGAT account with the following partners participants: Corporation University Autonomous of the Cauca and the Technological University of Choco, Colombia; of the National University of Córdoba and the National Litoral, Argentina; the University of Technology Business of Guayaquil, the Estatal Peninsula de Santa Elena and the Polytechnic School National of Ecuador; the National University of the Center of Peru, the National of San Cristóbal of Huamanga and the center Descocentro, of Peru; and the Universitá degli Studi di Salerno, Italy.
