THE Award “Valentín Paz Andrade”Research on the economy of Galicia is awarded jointly with the annual basis by the Economic and Social Council of Galicia and the University Institute of Studies and Development of Galicia (IDEGA) of the USC.

This year it summons the tenth edition and the deadline to submit nominations for the prize, and from 15 September until 30 October 2023.

OBJECT

to Reward those research papers that contribute to the better knowledge of the reality of the economic-social de Galicia and the establishment of the best policies to contribute to the well-being of its citizens.

REQUIREMENTS

THE Award has two categories:

Papers published in scientific journals or publishers recognized, between the October 15, 2022 and October 14, 2023.
Doctoral theses, submitted in any university between October 15, 2022 and October 14, 2023.

The texts may be written in English, Spanish, English and Portuguese.

SUBMISSION OF NOMINATIONS

Between September 15 and October 30, 2023, any author can do to get to the secretariat of the IDEGA in schedule 9 to 14 hours, or send it by postal mail to: IDEGA – Avda. of Sciences, Chalet nº1 Campus Vida 15782 Santiago de Compostela, his proposed candidacy for the prize, with indication of authorship, title and information of the issue, adding a paper copy and an indication of a mechanism of electronic access to the resource (or copy support USB).

COMPOSITION OF the JURY

THE Jury will be composed by the following members:

The Dean OF USC, who will preside
The PRESIDENT OF the ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL OF GALICIA,
THE DIRECTOR OF the IDEGA, which will act as the secretary
to A MEMBER OF the SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF the IDEGA, designed for this
A MEMBER OF the ECONOMIC COUNCIL-SOCIAL, designed for this
THREE PEOPLE CHANGED RECOÑOCIDA in RESEARCH IN the SOCIAL SCIENCES IN GALICIA, designated by common agreement between the IDEGA and the CES.

CRITERIA

THE decision of the Jury, which is expected to be adopted by a majority of its members, will take into account the following criteria:

Relevance of the contribution to the progress of the knowledge of the reality of the socio-economic situation of Galicia.
Relevance for the best allocation of resources, the boost to growth or to the employment and the attainment of quotas higher equity.

After the timely deliberations, each member of the Jury will choose a contribution of among the presented. Will be followed by the vote between the same, being eliminated in each round that or those who have less support. In the final round will be carried out a vote between the two contributions finalists.

The Jury will issue a resolution reasoned of his failure.

The failure will be made public before the December 12, 2023.
