The Doctoral Program in Regional Development and Economic Integration (DRIE) organizes this Thursday the seminar ‘The European Cohesion Funds Policy in the Regional Science Literature: A Systematic Review’, taught by economist Paul Wolf.
The article, prepared by researchers Paul Wolf and Roberto Bande, presents a systematic review exhaustive of the scientific literature on the Politics of European Cohesion and Structural Funds and European Investors (FEIE). Through the review of 857 papers published until 2024, the analysis of clusters themed and trends of methodological, traces the evaluation of the field and puts into relief the increasing complexity and accuracy of the empirical research.
The results show a predominance of studies that point out the positive effects, aunque heterogeneous, of the FEIE —conditioned by the governments and the regional contacts— while others provide evidence of limited results or ambiguous. The research evidence of the state of knowledge on the effectiveness of the FEIE and provides a framework systematic for future research empirical on the evaluation of regional policy european.
