The USC, through the IDEGA, drives in Senegal the cooperation project Africa MOVES

The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), through the Institute of Studies and Development of Galicia (IDEGA), has launched this Monday a cycle-intensive activities in Senegal in the framework of the project Africa MOVES (African Mobilities Organisation for venturing into into Educational Systems), funded by the program MOBAF of the European Commission in the framework of the instrument NDICI-Global Europe with a budget of 1.098.822 euros.

The team led by teachers Rubén C. Lois González and Rosa Executioner Matés, of the research group BEFORE and IDEGA, along with the technical superior of european projects Regina Race López, held several meetings with the authorities of the University Assane Seck of Ziguinchor (UASZ), entity coordinator of the project, to define the strategies of management and institutional coordination in its early phase. The actions carried out have allowed to consolidate the internal organization and advance in the preparation of the week of cooperation in Brussels, that will take place in April.

The program included the formations of the administrative and technical staff, in which participated in 25 people in the areas of administration, audits and finance. The sessions for Wednesday, centered on the management of european projects and in the use of platforms of funding from the European Union, the systems centralized and models officers. In addition, there have been groups of work for the design of the program of exchange interafricano with the support of the USC, a few of the actions of central Africa MOVES, in order to establish the mechanisms of coordination of the future stays the training.

This Thursday, the team visited the laboratories creatures and incubators to host the programs of entrepreneurship of the UASZ and held a meeting with students of master and doctoral and research staff, where they have shared goals and opportunities in the academic and professional open by the project that started this January and that will last four years. Among its objectives, the initiative incorporates the mobility of at least 46 students and people in training and promotes the key areas such as governance, quality education, the transition to the green and digital, resilience and social democracy.

The international consortium that participates Africa MOVES, in addition to the IDEGA and the Université Assane Seck de Ziguinchor (Senegal), is composed by the Université des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines de Bamako (ULSHB) and the Université Kurukanfuga of Bamako (UKB) in Mali; the Université his successor abdou Moumouni (UAM) in Niger; the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV); the University of São Tomé and Príncipe (USTP) and the University Púnguè (UNIPUNGUE) in Mozambique.
